After returning to Lowell Point, you’ll head back to the office to prepare for the second part of your adventure. A short drive takes you to Kenai Fjords National Park, where you’ll receive trekking poles for the hike. The Exit Glacier Overlook Loop Trail offers a moderate 2.2-mile hike through a glaciated forest with towering spruce, cottonwood, and birch trees.
Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the glacier’s history and the surrounding ecosystem. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including moose, bears, and mountain goats, as well as unique geological features like quartz veins and copper deposits.
