Fairbanks: Borealis Basecamp Dogsled and Reindeer Day Trip – Alaska, Alaska

Join a day trip from Fairbanks and head to the Borealis Basecamp to meet the animals that live in the north year-round. Enjoy a 1-hour dogsledding tour, a 30-minute reindeer meet and greet, and lunch.

EXPERIENCE:

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. It is a 45-minute drive North on the world-famous Elliott Highway to Borealis Basecamp. We are located in the heart of the Boreal Forest, with panoramic views of the valley.

Included in your package is a 1-hour dogsledding tour and a 30-minute long reindeer meet and greet tour.

We work with local, passionate mushers who view their dogs as their family, and you will have the chance to understand this incredible sport on your ride through the snowy forest.

On this 30-minute-long tour, you have the chance to meet our resident Alaskan-born reindeer. They live at Basecamp year-round, living on a diet of reindeer feed and natural treats. Your tour guide will show you how reindeer live in the Alaskan Arctic year-round and give you the opportunity to feed and take photos with them!

Lunch is held at Latitude 65, our on-site restaurant. Choose from hot and cold sandwiches, noodle dishes, and a rotating menu of features and fresh soups.

You may also take part in some of our complimentary resort activities, such as fat tire bike rentals, tubing down a sledding hill, or joining us for a nature walk to the Alyeska Pipeline.

You depart from Borealis Basecamp at 4:30 PM to return to Fairbanks.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

Ride on a genuine dogsled, as a team of 8 dogs swings through the snowy forest
Become friends and feed our resident reindeer during the meet and greet
