Overview
Balfa Week camp is immersive, multi-day workshops, lessons, and dances that have you learning side-by-side with master musicians, dancers, cooks, and craftspeople in a nature-based setting. Spontaneous jams, lakeside campfires, new friends from around the world— that’s the vibe for Balfa Week!
Schedule one-to-one lessons with Louisiana master musicians to conquer a tune that’s stuck in your head. Discuss the creative process with Louisiana folk craft artisans. Learn some tricks for Louisiana cooking during sessions with regional chefs. Imagine yourself peeling and eating a pile of crawfish. Wander into the nightly barn dances with friends to test out moves you practiced in dance class.
Play. Dance. Eat. Repeat!

Cancellation Policy:
We get it. Life happens, and your plans may need to change. So, if you need to cancel your Balfa Camp registration, please do so as early as possible. A written/eMail notification is required by LA Folk Roots to process cancellation and refund requests. Allow 10 business days for processing. Please submit notification to BalfaWeek@gmail.com and we welcome a backup phone call, too!LFR Office: 337.234.8360.

Before 1/31/2025 = $50 processing fee will be applied to Registration refunds.
Between 2/1 – 2/28/2025 = 50% refund of registration fees.
Beginning 3/1/2025 = no refunds. If you can’t make it to Balfa Camp, please let us know that your plans have changed.
Lodging and Transportation
Lodging for Balfa Week activities is the responsibility of each Balfa Week participant. It is NOT included with this camp registration.

All reservations for the Lakeview Park will be handled by Lakeview staff. You will be responsible for payment to Lakeview for cabin or campsite rentals, or for arranging shared accommodations at Lakeview or other lodging sites.
NOTE: The cabins are on hold for registered, multi-day Balfa Week participants, so aren’t available online. If you are trying to book a cabin, call the Office at Lakeview Park, open MONDAY-SATURDAY 9am-5pm and SUNDAY 9am-2pm.1-337-457-2881. Lakeview will have a “waiting list” for cabin housing should openings occur. Please be patient with the staff at Lakeview Park for the booking process! They are working to get registered Balfa Week participants booked for lodging in a timely fashion.The registration staff will have access to the “Request for shared cabin” information below.

Transportation to and from Balfa Week activities is the responsibility of each Balfa Week participant.
Please plan your transportation early and car-pool if you can! (10 minute drive from Lakeview Park to downtown Eunice; 55 minute drive from Lakeview Park to Lafayette/Lake Charles)
