2025 MTA Capitol Day – Springfield, IL

10:00 AM: Registration at President Abraham Lincoln Hotel (701 E. Adams St., Springfield)

10:30 AM: Session 1: Working with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). This program will include information on grants, programs, IDOT initiatives and what you need to know when working on other projects interfacing with IDOT. Presented by Greg Lupton of IDOT.

11:30 AM: Session 2: Finding & Applying for State Grants, presented by a representative of the Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity. The presentation will include finding information on grants through DCEO, what types of grants townships would be eligible for, what to expect if a grant is awarded and other useful information.

12:30 PM: Break

12:45 PM: Lunch with a guest speaker to be announced.

2:00-4:45 PM: Meet with legislators at the Capitol.

5:00-6:30 PM: Legislative Reception, featuring open bar and appetizers. This will be a great opportunity to interact with your legislators and continue to build relationships with them. Dinner with fellow MTA members on your own will follow (a list of restaurants will be provided).

Registration is required. The cost of $80.00 per person includes lunch and appetizers & open bar at the reception (members are responsible for booking their own hotel rooms-see below).

A block of hotel rooms for the night of March 19 has been reserved at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel. The cost is $139 plus tax per night, you can book online here or by calling (217) 544-8800, ask for Reservations and the group code is MTA. The deadline for booking for this block and rate is February 25.
