2025 Spring Breakdown Contra Dance Weekend – Columbia, MO

Enjoy great dancing and music with your friends at our annual contra dance weekend, March 14-16, 2025 at Kimball Ballroom in Columbia. We’ll be dancing to Playing with Fyre, with calling by Seth Tepfer. Plan now for a full weekend of dancing, workshops, after-dance receptions, Sunday morning brunch, and more!

Playing with Fyre features George Paul on keys, Rob Zisette on Fiddle , and Steve Kemble on percussion. They bring a unique blend of trad, jazz, old time, funk, and blues creating dynamic and driving dance music packed with emotionality.

Seth Tepfer Seth Tepfer calls dances for adults and children like you’ve never seen before. Since 1997, Seth has been calling dances and festivals in almost every state in the union and around the world. Known for his infectious energy, his short walk-thru’s, and his ‘hash-contras’, Seth’s warm enthusiasm is contagious, and gets everyone moving, smiling, and having a great time. Whether squares, contras, English, waltzes, Zweifachers, Cajun, Swing, or community dances, you can be certain that all involved – novices and experienced dancers alike – will amble away happy and eager to dance more!
